Lost Suffolk Downs and Rockingham Park here in (near) Boston over the past several years.

Now I need to drive to Seabrook, NH to a casino (used to be a greyhound track) for simulcasting.

Horse racing simply can't compete with all the other forms of gambling offered today.

And in many cases the land the tracks are (were) situated on has increased in value astronomically since the tracks were built. The owners take the super money offered by developers rather than run a losing operation. I really can't blame them as much as I hate watching my favorite passtime become a relic. Sucks.

Went to Arlington Park Thursday, As a TSC Vip Gold member in the past get in free with a guest free programs and set up in vip room all drinks on the house, vip valet parking, food 50% off, well that has all changed, pulling teeth to have host get us in for free, track only had AP programs, had to walk least a mile as parking was no longer comped, totally dis organized, dis functional organization, several tote machines had serious issues or delays in operating, terrible racing card. And all the news helicopters were panning track for news spots that Da bears were bidding on this property. Such a shame, good riddance,my last time going to AP, dont know who to blame CDI, illinois racing board, or illinois politics, was great place growing up there.
